I graduated from Sulphur High School in Sulphur, LA in 1982.
I attended LSU, McNeese State University and University of Houston-Clear Lake where I received my bachelor’s degree in Education and specialization in Early Childhood in 1990.
A little about myself:
I am originally from Louisiana and a very large family that includes my mother, two sisters and four brothers, as well as brother and sister in laws, and many nieces and nephews. I also have three wonderful daughters, ages 31, 28, and 25 (they were all graduates of Dayton High School); two son-in-laws and two sweet granddaughters, ages 8 and 19 months.( I am proud to be their “Gigi”). I also had a son born in 1999 but he passed away as an infant.
I moved to Texas in 1985 and began teaching in 1992 . I taught my first year in Pasadena, TX as a 3rd grade teacher, and then came to Dayton as a Kindergarten teacher and have continued to teach kindergarten all these years.
I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I was 6 years old. I have always loved children and enjoy the excitement they have for learning. On my time off, I enjoy being a part of anything with my children and grandchildren. I also enjoy the outdoors, reading, baking, and shopping.
