4th Grade Teacher
I graduated from Alice High School in 1975.
I graduated from Lamar University in 1992.
Bachelor degree in English with minor in Elementary Education.
This will be my twenty-sixth year with Dayton ISD.
I taught first grade for seven years, sixth grade Reading and English for one year, and I have been teaching fourth grade ELAR ever since.
I have been married to my husband, Steve, since 1976. We have three grown children - Bethanie, Marcie, and Dustin. They attended school in Dayton and graduated in 1997, 1999, and 2002 respectively.
We have three grandchildren who have attended Dayton schools. Bryant graduated in 2016, Makenna is a Jr.at DHS, and Rylie is a Fr. at DHS. Bryant is a black-belt in Tai Kwon Do and was an officer in Dayton High School, Marine Corps JROTC. He is now an assistant ranch manager at 2M Ranch in Sabinal, Texas. Makenna is a Varsity Cheerleader and a member of Interact and the UIL Spelling Team. Rylie is involved in drama and has a very quirky sense of humor. She is looking forward to hanging around with her older sister at DHS this year.
We also have a six year old granddaughter named Cami, who lives in Bon Weir, Texas. She is, of course, brilliant and incredibly cute!
We have four cats - CatBoy, Calypso, Sparkles, and Purrrrcilla. One of our dogs is named Mr. Bilbo Doggins because he looks just like what I imagine a Hobbit's dog would look like. Our other dog is a black lab/husky named Indiana Jones.
I enjoy reading. I collect cat stuff - figurines, coffee cups, salt and pepper shakers, pictures, cookie jars, etc. I am, however, not a crazy cat lady because I only have four real cats, which I consider a reasonable amount of cats.
I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and camping in our RV.
I spend a lot of my “out-of-school” time transporting my granddaughters, Makenna and Rylie, to activities.
